
Your host will be either a prominent Spanish painter with a Master’s in Fine Arts from Yale University or an Spanish art historian that has guided tours at the museums for Kings and Heads of State for years. Your host will take you for an art tour focusing on Spanish Masters: Velázquez, Goya, el Greco, Dalí, Miró, Chillida, Tapies, etc. both at the Prado Museum and at the Reina Sofía Museum of Modern Art located at Madrid’s Avenue of Art.
Visit the Prado National Museum that contains the world's best collection of Spanish painting. You will see works by El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Ribera, Zurbarán, Murillo. The Prado also contains paintings by Van der Weyden, Hieronymous Bosch, the most complete collection of Titian and other painters of the Venice School and also has a collection of first-class works of German, French and English Art.
The itinerary closes with a masterpiece: Picasso's Guernica, the centrepiece of the 20th century art collection exhibited at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía National Museum. The collection is made up primarily of Spanish painting and sculpture; Picasso, Juan Gris, Miró, Dalí, Chillida and Tapies as well as more recent artists.
